The Chilli Festival was borne from the passions and vision of local volunteers – a passion, vision and commitment that continues to this day.
The Sawtell Chilli Festival has been an annual event in First Avenue for more than 20 years, and attracts over 13,000 people to the village on the first Saturday of July.
The Festival features over 100 chilli related stalls offering a variety of foods and flavours from some of Australia’s leading chilli product manufacturers as well as local restaurants and cafes showcasing their own famous cuisine.
Make sure you arrive hungry as there is so much to taste, and, of course, products to take home.
For a small seaside village, Sawtell certainly has a big music scene to choose from, with artists that are both local and from further afield.
Entertainment, music, kids activities, competitions and giveaways guarantee a great day out for the whole family.
